Hi, does anyone know where to buy the 350v 300uf caps shown on the #124 layout (C18 & C19 layout rev 3.7.22)? I have seen other #124 low plate classic builds using 350v 220uF which are easier to find or could I possibly use 300v 220uF which are readily available? Thanks Jude
I understand that Dumble would often use whatever he had on hand or could find in local stores. That’s way more filtering than needed. I’ve used 200uF successfully before.
Thanks Dave, actually I think the original Dumbles used Sprague 500V 330uF and as these caps are +/-20% capacitance anyway I just ordered some 450V 330uF radial Nichicon caps instead that only just fit on the board. I did also find a US eBay seller who has tested NOS 350V 300uF radial Rubycon caps (good quality; eBay item number183760461571 ) if anyone else reads this and wants smaller caps closer to spec.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to find the 300uF 350v caps, but looking at the schematics and layouts of other clones, I have seen 200uF 300v filter caps used in Ceriatone Dumble clones, so I would guess that 220uF 350v would work just fine.
